| DESCRIPTION: A cascade of highly textured open fans (Sensu) are woven in shades of gold, copper and soft green to create a pine needle pattern. Each of these are captured within a hexagon (Kikko) or tortoise shell pattern favored by royals. The background, which is woven in silver and cream, echoes the same royal hexagon pattern. The overall impression of this weaving is most striking as a contrast between organic curves and rigid geometric lines. |
