| DESCRIPTION: This elaborately woven obi depicts cascading wave forms (Seigaiha) against a background of solid black silk with a satin finish. The royal chrysanthemum (Kiku) is inset into the waves. This is an intriguing study in color and textural contrasts. The sheen of the black and gold is set in contrast to the matte orange sections which boast a zig-zag pattern. |
