| DESCRIPTION: Against a luscious blue background, two circles present patterns in richly textured gold with bright red and green accents. The one circle holds an imaginary flower (Karabana), while the other offers richly detailed royal hexagons (Kikko) which are considered to represent an abstraction of the tortoise's shell. This is a most elaborate example of the high art of Japanese textile weaving. |
