| PATTERN: In the upper circle a royal crane (Tsuru), a symbol for long life, with spread wings flies over ocean waves; while the phoenix (Hou-ou) bird, which is viewed as a symbol for the empress, night and love, is in the lower element. Both are framed within a vivid copper mirror (Doukyo) pattern. The entire presentation is woven over a background of neutral taupe and cream toned royal hexagon (Kikko) or tortoise's shell pattern, a shape favored by royals. |
